🏛️ Organizational Structure
The Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) is a non-stock, non-profit sports foundation whose structure is organized hierarchically from the general membership up to the national governing bodies and committees.
I. The General Membership (Supreme Governing Body)
The General Membership is the supreme governing body of PRISAA, vested with all the powers provided by law and the Association's by-laws.
- Composition: Composed of the duly accredited PRISAA member-schools across the seventeen (17) regions of the country.
- Role: Elects and appoints officers at the Provincial/City and Regional Levels following the electoral process.
II. Governing Levels
The Association is structured into three main governing levels:
A. Provincial/City Chapter
- Composition: Presidents of duly accredited PRISAA member-schools in the province/city.
- Elected Officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Auditor.
- Appointed Officers: Public Relations Officer, Marketing/Promotions Officer, and Provincial/City Executive Director.
- Support: Organizes a Secretariat.
B. Regional Association
- Composition: Duly elected Provincial/City Chapter Presidents.
- Elected Officers (from among the Chapter Presidents): President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Auditor.
- Appointed Officers: Public Relations Officer, Marketing/Promotions Officer, and Regional Executive Director.
- Support: Organizes a Secretariat.
C. National Association
- Composition: Duly elected Regional Presidents.
- Elected Officers (from among the Regional Presidents): Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Auditor.
- Appointed Officers: Public Relations Officer, Marketing/Promotions Officer, National Executive Director, and Secretary General.
Note on National President: The National President position is reserved for the President of the Host Region and assumes office upon acceptance of the award for hosting the Annual PRISAA National Collegiate Games. The National President also acts as the Vice Chairman of the Board.
III. National Board and National Committees
A. The National Board (Policy Making Body)
- Composition: The duly elected National Officers and Regional Presidents.
- Role:
- Serves as the policy making body of the Association.
- Exercises general supervision and control over the affairs of the Association.
- Elects the National Chairman, who must possess integrity, character, capacity, connection, time, and willingness to serve.
- Note: The National Chairman and other appointive officers (at all levels) need not come from the Presidents of PRISAA member-schools.
B. The National Secretariat
- Role: Functions as the National Office of the Association, serving as the center of information, communication, and the repository of all data, records, and documents of PRISAA.
C. The National Organizing Committee (NOC)
- Role: Organized to oversee the successful management and conduct of the Annual PRISAA National Collegiate Games.
- Composition: Vice-Chairman/President, Public Relations Officer, Marketing Officer, National Executive Director, and Secretary General.
- Key Appointment: The NOC appoints the Project Director (preferably from the Host Region), who is responsible for the formation and mobilization of the Annual PRISAA National Collegiate Games Working Committees.
D. PRISAA National Collegiate Games Working Committees
- Grouping: Divided into Administrative and Technical Working Committees.
- Management:
- The Administrative Working Committees are under the direct management, supervision, and control of the Project Director.
- The Technical Working Committees are under the direct management, supervision, and control of the National Executive Director.
- Oversight: The Project Director and National Executive Director oversee the administrative and technical operations of the National Collegiate Games, respectively.
