Sports, Service, and Results: PRISAA Bicol’s Courtesy Visit to Mayor Leni Robredo
PRISAA Bicol meets with Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo to discuss grassroots sports programs. A look at the productive dialogue focused on tangible results and the enduring people-centered leadership at Naga City Hall.

Beyond Politics: A Focus on Sports and Service with Mayor Leni Robredo
Naga City — A meeting with former Vice President Leni Robredo is usually associated with national affairs, but this recent visit was strictly about one thing: sports.
Recently, PRISAA Bicol (Private Schools Athletic Association) paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Leni at Naga City Hall to discuss the association’s grassroots programs. It was a productive dialogue centered on youth development and community engagement.
The Robredo Legacy of Accessibility
Returning to Naga City Hall brings a sense of nostalgia. The office, once used by the late Secretary Jesse Robredo, remains the same office now occupied by Mayor Leni.
Walking inside, one immediately notices the atmosphere. Chairs and tables are well-prepared, ready to accommodate the many locals who visit the Mayor daily. It is immediately clear that the consultative and people-centered leadership style of the Robredos continues to thrive. Despite her busy schedule, Mayor Leni always makes time to talk with the people who come to see her, maintaining an open door to her constituents.
A Focus on Tangible Results
During the presentation of the PRISAA programs, Mayor Leni paid close attention and listened intently. Her feedback was direct and grounded in community welfare.
"All she wanted is the RESULT of the program and making the people of Naga happy."
She emphasized that beyond the technicalities of sports management, the ultimate goal must be the happiness and benefit of the Nagueños. It was a refreshing reminder that effective leadership—whether in government or sports—is ultimately about serving the people.
